IT'S NOT MY FAULT !!For those who have followed the Ameren UE story, failed reservoir on Proffit Mountain, current rebuilding of same, plans to build yet another, even larger one, on nearby Church Mountain, and more, there are many tidbits of information not known by the general public. One such piece of information is to be seen in maps, including "The Geologic Map Of The Rolla 1 deg.X 2 deg. Quadrangle, Missouri", published by the U.S. Dept. of Interior/U.S. Geologic Survey. This map clearly shows earthquake fault lines on both Proffit Mountain, as well as Church Mountain. On the maps they are represented as solid black lines, as indicated in the accompanying text legend. While it is true that the fault lines as shown on Proffit Mountain do not appear to run directly under the reservoir, they do exist on that mountain. Further, there is no published plan showing exactly where on Church Mountain Ameren UE wants to locate their next unnecessary reservoir, thus it is impossible to know how close the proposed scar will be to the faults. The accompanying photos show both Proffit and Church Mountains, as well as relevant map text.

IT'S NOT MY FAULT !! addendum
Notice that the faint blue Ameren UE upper reservoir is seen in the map(s) immediately above, and north of, the dark gray geologic formation labeled "yhm". A small finger of the lower reservoir can be seen along the bottom left edge of the photo.
To locate Church Mountain, find Taum Sauk Creek near center of maps, running vertically (north/south), and Little Taum Sauk Creek running horizontally along the bottom of the maps where both creeks join. That purple mountain area to the right of Taum Sauk Creek and above Little Taum Sauk Creek is Church Mountain. Note the solid black earthquake fault lines.
